FUN WITH DICK
FUN WITH DICK began as an adjunct to Reed Massengill’s 21st Century digital and film sessions with his models. With the 1998 release of the Fuji Instax instant camera, Massengill became enamored of the intimate size of the prints and the element of immediate gratification reminiscent of the Polaroid era. The images in this exhibition are culled from thousands of these prints, spanning more than a decade of photographic fun and frolic.

Published in 1996, MASSENGILL was the first of Reed Massengill’s photographic monographs. Although widely published, the images from MASSENGILL have never before been exhibited.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the publication of Massengill’s third monograph, BRIAN: A NINE-YEAR PHOTOGRAPHIC DIARY.
Images of his model and muse Brian Hess began in 1992 and continued until the advent of COVID – a span of more than 25 years.
